Just got my Blackstone report

I don't want to start any OA debates but for those that do them and find them interesting I had 7100 miles on this oil change. There is a small oil leak that I had to add 3 quarts over that interval to keep up with it and they make reference to that in the comments. Here are there comments:
JASON: Thanks for the note about the leak. It doesn't appear to be having an effect on wear and three quarts isn't a
lot considering that this engine holds 12-14. Wear increased a little in this sample but not enough to warrant any
serious concern. If this oil was run longer than the last or you did any heavy towing, either could explain the increase.
The TBN read 5.7 so you still had plenty of active additive remaining. You could go longer on the next oil and 9,000
miles shouldn't be too many. Wear will increase but we'll let you know when it starts to get too high.
I was very encouraged to hear this as I am not even running synthetic oil. I am running the tried and true Shell Rotella T 15W 40. PS if someone will show me how to post the report as text instead of as an attachment I will.

No. I run the Napa gold filter and the SHell Rotella. Everything else is stock as far as oiling is concerned.

Silicon seems a little high for the mileage, considering the 3 quart makeup. Was it the same air filter and mileage on the last sample as well?

It was what I have to assume was around a 5000 mile interval. I am pretty sure the dealership had done an oil change prior to me purchasing. I did the 6637 a few weeks after buying her and it is the same filter. It is pretty dirty but my 4 new ones came from UPS a few minutes ago so I will be changing it in the next day or two.

Universal average is 9 and I had 8 on this one. What would be a number for you to consider it good Clux?

So prior to that it was the stock air filter setup? In that case, the downward trend will hopefully continue.

The universal average for our engine is at 9 at around a 5,500 mile interval, and I have to assume that is with a lot of stock filters figured in. A better system should return better than stock filtration. Your 8 down from 11 is hopefully the result of your better than stock system.

Just speaking for myself, I'm not happy unless mine comes back 6 or less in 10,000 miles.

Jason,

I am extending my drain intervals on my dino as per blackstones instructions also. Question. Are you going to change your oil filter? Blackstone did not say anything about it. Ive got 7,000 on this oil filter. Is it time to change?

You could get a 25,000 mile spin on filter from AMSOIL and a 65,000 MILE BYPASS filter and change your oil at 15,000 miles or 1 year which ever comes first. The bypass filter's down to 1 micron.

Do you have UOA's from a 7.3 to back this claim? I'd like to see them.

15000 is not a problem without a bypass filter
