I recently bought a 86 F150 4x4 pickup with an in-line 6. I have torn the engine completely apart and I am now to the step of putting all of the wires back to where they need to go. The only problem is that the old owner has cut many of the wires and so I have lots of cut wires and no idea where they go. If someone has a wiring diagram that would be great!

 

Look on ebay for the correct factory diagram, or Service Manuals, Owner Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, Service Bulletins - Helm Incorporated sells the new diagrams if they have yours in stock. Autozone has free diagrams, but they just hit the high spots sometimes and are not complete.

I guess you know you have the famous computer controlled carb and distributor system, which is commonly swapped out to a older non-computer controlled dist and carb. If you do not hook everything back up correctly, the computer will not run the engine correctly unless you do the swap.

 

FYI, Helm has been back ordered for some time now with no estimate of when they might have more in stock...
