Talking First taste of 08

Well, I got my first taste of an 08 Ford. The county crew I work on got an 08 F250 Super Duty. It has the twin turbo 6.4 Powerstroke. I gotta tell ya, I think the front of that truck is ugly. Once you get past the grill it is a nice ride. The mechanics are still putting the 2 way and other stuff on it but we cant wait to get it out on the road. That whole truck moves when you gun that big diesel.

I've been wanting to drive one, just to compare it to my 6.0. I'm with you Darin, I can't get past that ugly fron end. I thought it would grow on me, but it hasn't. I'd like some of the other options the 08 has, like the nav system, and the tailgate step.

I'm with you guys... I just can't get used to the look either. The local Ford dealer here has an 08 F350 Harley Edition, everything on the front is blacked out, that helps a little.

idk, i'm kinda maybe getting used to the change a little bit...slowly...but i'm curious as to how those things hold up and if they can hold their own against a cummins...don't get me wrong here, i'm a ford guy thru and thru, but personally, i don't think ford has had a good enough engine since the 7.3 ...6.0's were ok but i'd rather have a 5.9 cummins over that. Oh, ya almost forgot, not a big fan of all the emissions restrictions the government slapped the poor diesels w/ but then again, who isn't. Now i spose someone's gonna be mad at me for wanting to choke bunnies w/ all my diesel smog and what not lol...

Saw an '08 driving by yesterday. It had a big push bar on the front. That really helped the front look a lot better... It almost seems the headlights are too small for that big of a truck.

You know, if they'd just put some bigger lights on that thing, the bunnies would see it coming and get out of the way!

That would probably help. Either that, or put the headlights on top of the turn signals, where they belong!

Did you boys forget how it was on the beloved 73-77's? The headlights were underneath the turn signal/park lights.....

I'm finally getting used to the frontend's, espesically after seeing a new 3/4 ton chevy, omg.... that is the uglyist thing I've ever seen, makes the fords look good. But I thought the 97 1/2 tons were awful at the time, now compared to there new ones, they're the best lookin thing ever, like anything else you get used to it, except for me with dodges, I loved there old style, I haven't yet takin to this big grill thing. I hope that 6.4 hold together for you guys, I'll never buy one personally (mostly b/c I could never afford it and by the time I can they will have a diesel that gets way better milage w/ the emissions junk) or we'll be using hydrogen.

Touche. The question is (and I don't think any of us are really old enough to remember.....) is did the people think they looked good when they came out in '73? I agree, 1967-1979 are my absolute favorite years of Ford pickups........

My grandpa must've......he bought a '74 Highboy for the well drilling business.....I'd love to fix it up, but it's in about as bad of shape as Ol Blue was when I started and there's no way I have the pocket book for two projects, let alone one!!!

yeah, you'd better get blue finished first! I'm still pondering on the fate of my '67. One minute, I want to keep it...next minute, sell it and get a 66-67 Fairlane...I'm getting as bad as a woman!LOL!
