#7 coil misfire. Can I still drive the truck?

Was wondering if extended driving will cause any damage to my 03 eb (5.4) expy? I saw the misfire this morning, SES came on, the codes were p0307, and po316. It ideals rough but drives fine once i accelerate.

Will 1-2 hours of continuous driving cause any damage? its the weekend and wont be able to get it fixed for a few days.

thanks! was unable to find this answer in any of the misfire threads.

Drive it as little as possible and get it fixed as soon as possible.

unplug the fuel injector so you don't dump raw gasoline into the cylinder.

Unless the engine management software in the PCM shuts down the offending cylinder's fuel injector, you'll run a significant risk of loading the catalytic converter with unburned fuel, a situation you really don't want to get into.

Unplugging the injector is the surset way to prevent this.

Yes by all means unplug that injector---I had a friend have an injector stuck open and that led to major downstream probs

It is much easier to just replace the ignition coil (coil pack) than it is to unplug the injector. Shouldn't take more than 20 min to fix.
