The most important thing to know about that study is they used **UNTREATED**, dry ULSD. The fuel you get will have additives put in by the producer! So even though some of the products (specifically, the DieselKleen I use) added little to the lubricity, it did add some. So as long as you don't get completely untreated ULSD (highly unlikely), you will be okay with some of the others not at the top of the list.
I think another important thing is that they only allude to "more is better" when it comes to lubricity. What they don't get into is what the point of deminishing returns is. We don't know how much is needed. All it alludes to is more lubricity is better. Till what point? What is the wear graph like?
