SC Powerstroke GTG @ Pine Island Club on Lake Murray

Hey guys, I am somewhat in charge of putting together a GTG for www.ford-trucks.com

It looks like we are going to have it March 15th @ Pine Island Club on Lake Murray.

I thought since we are all Ford fans here it would be great for some of yall to come out and join the fun. This will be the first GTG I've ever tried to put on so lets see how many people we can get out there.

Here's a link to the thread

That sounds like a good time, I agree we should try to make it a group gathering...

I forgot to add. I'll have my boat in the water if it's a nice day and there will be other people bring theirs as well. You are welcome to bring any watercraft

Steve from the looks of the "sister-site" you guys are still good for the 15th of March? (Weather Channel) Temps for that time period in March seem to avg. in the high 60s to low 70s....with a recorded "record high" of 88*. So it looks decent for boating weather. I have to see what's all involved with getting our boat ready by then.

Maybe also should split the "shopping lists" between both entities? Last year someone brought in thier (home) gas grill and another member brought in a Sweet table top grill (thanks Rick!) Though, it looks as if you have charcoal grills already there...

Here was a shopping list from last years g2g...

* burgers / hotdogs and buns...
* ket, mustard, relish
* variety pack lays chips
* Plates
* bottled water/sodas -Brewha....

* -Cheese
* -Mayo

* -Tomato, lettuce, onions.. (burger/dog toppings)

* -Chili? (again-burger/dog topping)

* -plastic flatware

* -napkins/towels
* -desserts

Guys, I just found out there might be some issues with the date. I called to reserve the date but haven't been contacted back yet. I got a flyer in the company mail saying they are having their annual Children's Day on March 15th on the island. That pretty much means that our chances of being able to have it that day are shot. Children's Day is one of the bigger events for the year. I'm still going to push for that day, but if not it looks like it might be the 22nd or possibly the 29th.

Well I/we had thought of having our Dreher State park in mid April... if that could work for both groups. It may also be a few degrees warmer for those that may want to endeavor into some sort of water sport(s).

If it's in April then I'm out. The nuclear plant I work at is going to be refueling for 5 weeks starting at the beginning of April. I will be working 12.5 hr shifts at night for 7 days a week, 5 weeks straight....

I called to check on the reservation for a shelter for the Powerstoke GTG and the lady was gone for the day. I was told I would hear from her tomorrow. They might still be able to squeeze us in at a shelter if they aren't too packed that day (March 15th). Keep your figers crossed!

*I will have an update tomorrow (Tuesday)
