RE: FTE Ranger truck forum

I state here plainly that the group we have on FTE (with few exceptions) I consider to be jackasses.

I will not post in that forum again, and doubt that any of them are reliable.

This is for my own reasons, you may form your own opinions.

This goes back a few years in impressions and altercations there.

I WILL NOT HABIT IT.

Better for all of us if I don't.

I've just butted heads there too many times.

It does not "FEEL" like the rest of the forums at FTE.
It smells different.

I don't like it. My own Ranger info I will keep here.

Wolfie, Most of your "Ranger" drivers now are young punks that think they know everything. We old crusties don't know what the heck we are talking about.

I've blocked the entire forum from my view.

Last thing I need is a crusade against the unknowing and not wanting to know.

Unfortunately, you get that everywhere. That is one of the perks of having to deal with the younger generation.

Yeah, but on top of all that - I've had a few SHOOT-OUTS there. RangerPilot is a good guy, but I'm tired of sorting it out, so the rest can find their own way.

I've had enough, and seen it before.

I built my first engine in 1970, never stopped since. Joined the NAV as an electro-tech MAINLY to stay on top of car and truck electronics.

I have no time for stupid squabbles.

I don't try to teach pigs to sing. It is very frustrating, and upsets the pig.

I don't know what I will do if that was to happen to the 6.0 forum.

Wolfie, I know how you feel. I have been working on trains for the last 29 years and now I've got a youngun that knows the BEST way to do everything. He says that I treat him like an idiot when I try to show him how things work. Maybe some day he'll learn, if he don't kill himself first.

BTW I built my first engine at about 1970 also, now I just tinker with what I can.

Were we any better when we were their age though? I know I wasn't as vocal as they are now, but still I know I thought that same way. I think that's what adds to the frustration(either that or it's just me, I'm strange that way).

I suppose most people are that way. I was taught to watch and listen to the experienced ones and learn to do things that I need to know to get the job done without doin myself in. Young people don't have the disclipine or patience to learn the right way to do the job. In my job it only takes one slip up and you won't be around to make that mistake again.

Oh it's the same thing with what I do, even moreso because I'm dealing with animals that have a prey instinct instead of the predator one that we have. Couple that with the 800-900lb advantage that they have and you could head to disaster oh so mighty fast.

Animals and people will, for the most part, give a clue as to what they are going to do. A jacked up freight car that weighs about 100 tons never lets you know if it's going to fall. Even if you do everything right, there's always a chance for an unforseen problem. I can see how large animals can prove to be a challenge as to what they are thinking and how they are going to act in different situations. Keeping an eye on them and doing what you need to do sounds like a real chore.

I have one mare that you will never know what she is going to do. She is one of those crazy mares that will rear straight backwards and that is very very dangerous. Not all the time, but you never know when she will or not. Took me 4 yrs to break her, best trail horse out there, but she isn't for the novice, she still tries to get the one up on me.

I've got a few friends who have horses, and they all have said that the most dangerous ones are the ones that are broke but still have their spirit. They have still got a little wild in them. Kinda like a youngun...can't do nothin with em...
