'49 f-1 wiring question for the gurus

we are installing an ez wire mini 12 harness in my f-1. we got engine, gauges, ignition, charging, starting all in and checked out. went nice, works good. in getting ready for lights, i have this question. using the van pelt wiring diagram (original wires), what is the black (orange tracer) wire that goes from the end of the circuit breaker to the front pole on the headlight switch? it seems like the yellow (red tracer) from circuit breaker to center post on light switch, is power in. just wondering if anyone out there "been there, done that" thanks, dick r.

My switch isn't stock, but looking at the wiring diagram, it appears the headlights are run off a separate feed than the parking and instrument lights. With 6v, the headlights draw a bunch of current.

ross , that makes a lot of sense. i found a diff diagram and it looks like the headlights (original) ran off the 30 amp side of breaker and the dome, parking and brake light run off the 15 amp breaker. thats making sense, as always, thanks for the support. dick r.
