wheel spacers on a F350?

I looked at some threads on here that say stay away from wheel spacers. But then I found that its better if you get hubcentric spacers. I have a 95 F350 crew cab Diesel 8 lug by 6.5. I am alittle worried about all this weight on spacers. Has anyone put spacers on there truck and had any problems? If so where did you get them and how wide. I see that the rear studs are 2 inch and about .100 thousands long so 2" spacers wouldn't be enough.

I would not want to run 2 inch spacers all the way around. I MIGHT run 2 inch spacers on the rear to bring the rear tires out in line with the front tires. You might have to trim a little off the end of the studs though. I don't tow any real weight so that would not worry me but it you tow heavy I wouldn't run spacers at all.

i would get different wheels if you want to change the stance of the truck, by adding only spacers you are using the same footprint of the wheel and moving it outwards. this puts additional strain on the wheel lugs and bearings as well as balljoints.

if you get a wider rim with a different offset this will give you the wider stance you desire and wont be nearly as hard on the truck. it will also look 10 times better too

wheel spacers are a bad idea in my opinion, hubs and wheels are designed to clamp together. lug nuts are only designed to hold 10% of the vehicle, the center hub holds the other 90%. also the front tires will ware really bad on the inside because of the alignment

also on our trucks the wheel are lug centric. that means the lug nut/studs hold all the weight to the truck. The SD's are hub centric and in that case you statement would be true.

I can't remember. Its been too long since I looked at a textbook! I don't consider SAI a real world number. Meaning I have been doing alignments for 12 years and never needed to know what it is to fix tire wear or driveability.

ive thought about making some whell spacers to bring the rears even with the fornts when i get the 305's on. i dont tow heavy, and if i ever hook to a sled i could remove them.

On a solid front axle truck it wouldn't matter but on a 250 or other independant front end spacer and off set wheel will cause some wear. no good way around it.

if your alignment is set properly it shouldnt matter, and if there is cause for concern just get the truck aligned after the spacers go on, but it still stands that spacers are not the way to go
