towing with a toyota tundra

quick question my dad and his brother are going to sturgis this year for bike week and are in the process of buying a 7x12 or 7x14 enclosed trailer and i was wondering if the tundra would do a ok job of pulling this trailer the trailer weight is about 1700 and the two bikes weigh roughly 800 each so that would be a total of 3,300 lbs does anybody have a opinion on this there are going from virginia to south dakota and i just want them to have a safe trip thanks for any info

The 2008 is rated at 10,500 lbs (I still don't believe it), the 2004 was 6,400 (with the 4.6L V8). Should be fine, only problem might be wind hitting the side of the trailer and pushing it around some, 14X7 is a lot of surface area with not a whole lot of weght inside. Trailer has brakes on it, yes? Do they have a controller of some sort?

The Tundra is pretty much the equivelant of the F150, if outfitted the same. The F150 can tow a little more, a little better, and for a lot longer, but their capacities are very similar. Still can't get over the Tundra's fist-sized oil filter though... its about 1/3 the size of the F150's.

Don't forget the artificial wind caused by Semi's passing. It would be a good idea to load the trailer up and take a few quick trips to get used to the feel before heading cross country.

The wind will be a huge factor the last 500 miles of the trip! The wieght isnt going to be as much of a factor as the drag.

The last 10 miles the trailer will probably be lighter, thats how most guys seem to "ride" thier bikes to Sturgis!!
