2001 Expedition PO308 misfire

Hi Guys,

I have a 2001 Expedition with the 5.4l, I had a misfire on the number 8 cylinder last week, so I replaced all the plugs and swapped the coil with one that was good. Everything seemed fine until this weekend when I towed the snowmobiles. The SES light came on again so I scanned it when I got home. It is the same code PO308. Since I replaced the plug and coil should I now look at the injector? I'm also noticing a gas smell while driving.

Thanks for any help.

Scott

Check for o-ring leaks around the injector if you are smelling fuel. Also, check and make sure that the hoses to the EVAP canister are not disconnected as that can cause a fuel smell.

Would a bad o-ring cause the misfire?
