water pump story

So, a couple of weeks ago I installed a 203 degree stat in my truck and changed the upper and lower hoses. I has a small leak at the intake side of the pump where the pipe with the 90 degree bend bolts onto the pump. I saw some rust on the pipe so I thought i would put a new one on while I was there.

Now of course I thought about changing the pump too, but it was not leaking.

Until this past weekend! Yep right out the darn shaft. So I call up the dealer and NAPA. dealer wanted $270 for a new pump. NAPA $160 for a new lifetime.

Yes I went with the NAPA pump. I looked in the box before I left the counter before I left the store. Had to LMAO when i saw the new 90 degree pipe in the box! I had just paid $72 for it! LMAO shaking my head..

Never fails!

So if you have truck and you need to do any cooling system work, you may want to go ahead with a pump the first go around.

Truck is fine now.

You bought the pipe twice but you still came out better doing it yourself.

Glad you got it done.

Glenn, I just have to add...your storm trooper cartoon kind of freaks me out. Each time I look at a post you've replied to I see that thing just thrusting away and it makes me want to throw up a little.

I keep thinking how the empire must have fallen on some really hard times if you look at their fleet behind him.
