Can't you just drive another car when she is with you? We straight-piped my '01 and my mom hates it, so when we go places, we take her truck. If you want you can have my old muffler from my diesel.

i'd say you could have mine and i'll buy yours from you.

but meeting in the middle could be a problem with 4000 miles of water

cant find any suppliers for an exhaust here in the uk, looks like i'm gonna have to get a custom built one.

Ken, I'd be willing to do a swap with some money to you but we can't quite meet at my garage for a weekend to do it. To answer your question, I don't have any stock exhaust parts laying around at the moment, though, and I'm sure that shipping your stuff from Hawaii would be cost prohibitive, at best.

So, in a few months I'll just do the eBay headers and a Magnaflow and call it done. Have you considered getting a large Magnaflow instead? They are pretty quiet.

I still have the manifolds and 'Y' pipe off my '00 V10 when I put the Banks on it. I threw the muffler and pipes away. It was loud with the Banks kit on it. I wouldn't do that again.

Good Luck

At this point I'd trade straight up...one of the bummers of living on an island.

I want it quieter than stock (if that's even possible) so I haven't even considered an aftermarket muffler.

I'll have one soon!!!

I've got a FM 50 HD to put on as soon as I get the y-pipe. I want to do it all at once since I'm getting my BIL to do it. If I like the setup, then I will have one lying around.

It's an '05 with about 35000 miles so it's still in really good shape. I'm in NC though, so shipping would not be great.

Didn't think it would be too loud and in fact, it isn't terribly loud. But it is loud enough to annoy my wife and me when we're towing up a hill.

I have a sound clip link in my gallery.

we had straight pipes on a 5.0 mustang convert that was loud and obnoxious, straight pipes on 55 sunliner that was mellow sweet, staight pipes on a 56 crown vic that was clasic, but for the v10 stock is best, so you can hear a convesation. Good luck finding one laying around. My wife and i are glad we have stock exhust!!!!
