Question A/C Problem - 2005 F-150 SCab

Got a problem with the A/C (Climate Control) in my 2005 F-150 SCab, lariat, 5.4L, V8. In the morning I used the defroster to shake off some Florida humidity on the way to work. When I left work it rained and I needed some A/C. Went to turn it on and absolutely nothing happened. No lights, no action, no breeze.

The rest of the console instruments work fine (radio, lighter, rear object notification option), but not the blasted A/C. Seemed dead. Because it seemed isolated, I checked the fuse box for some blown fuses related to the A/C, #13, and #14. Nothing was wrong.

Anyone's assistance would be greatly appreciated prior to me letting the dealer put the diagnostic machine on it.

I had an issue with mine last week. My control panel still lit up but the clutch wasn't engaging. Well I searched the fuse box and none were bad, but I still replaced any fuse I could that said A/C. Well it fixed the problem(could have just been a crappy connection). Maybe try replacing the fuses even though they look good....I looked and tested mine with a meter and they read fine.

Also, you may want to pop the radio bezel off and make sure that no plugs on the back of the control panel came off somehow.

Thanks, I'll look at both the fuses again and the radio bezel. A month ago I had a satellite radio installed. Maybe they loosened up a connection in the back. How hard is it to get the bezel off. It seemed easy for the satellite radio installer.

It just pops off. You can probably open the ashtray and fit your fingers underneath the bezel and pop it off...or just get a small flat putty knife or wrap a small flatblade screwdriver in something and pry it out just be sure not to damage the dash. Real easy to do.

Thanks. Just got some new fuses and I'll do some replacing tonight. I'll also take your advice and carefully remove the bezel and look for any loose connections. Hopefully, it will be as easy as that.
