what engine could be going in this??
is it a turbo??
will the price really be comparable to a gasser??
will it really get mid-high 20's MPG??
when could it be expected to be realeased??
optional fx4 package??
will it be limited to automatic??

Um, not if the trailer is more than 10K lbs. Then you get into problems with the rest of the truck... like brakes going down the 6% grade, or a cross wind taking you off the highway. The 150 is still, well.. tiny?

 

The power to pull uphill doesn't really matter. As mentioned above, the power to stop the load, handle any sway issues, etc. means you can't do it. My 350 can tow a whole lot more weight than I can control or stop.

But put a regular trailer behind that thing, set the cruise, and you'll probably forget it's back there.

 

Can i point out that a current f150 is more powerful, heavier, and can tow more than two generations ago F250's....

 

Which generation are you referring to? I don't know exactly what it says on paper, but I have a 99 F250 7.3 (2 generations ago motor wise) and a 2008 F150 HD at work. When pulling 6 or 8k the 99 wins hands down for handling and stopping.

 

I`d stick with the bigger truck(like mine) as 350 states about control issues

the new f150s pull just as much if not more then my 85 f350 crew cab dually could handle. i beleive it was about 9k it could pull after deciphering the door sticker as i couldnt find actual ratings. granted they are 20 years apart but that shows you how much they have came in the last few years in breaks and frames.

Sorry but for towing heavy loads, 8k lbs or more, I'd still take that 85 Dually over a new F150. If it had a 460, even as pathetict as some seemed to be power wise back then, it would still out torque a 3V 5.4 at low RPMs and when towing up hills!

 

I'd like a diesel F150 to pull my 8500 lbs Travel Trailer. For the few times a year I pull it I dont really need to keep a 1 ton truck around

 

i would agree 100% but as far as rating go the newer f150 sounds better on paper is what im saying. my 85 was a monster when it came to pulling things and it was only 2 wheel drive. mine wasnt completely stock but it was only bolt on things like headers and intake and such, but none the less it had more power then most newer trucks ive driven from the seat 'o the pants meter.
