Guys, I have been reading on here for hours, but can't seem to find the exact answers I'm looking for. So I thought I would give it a try. My question is can I fit BF Goodrich 315/70/17 on my 2005 F250 w/ stock rims and not scrub at full lock. Do I absolutely need the 2" leveling kit to not scrub?
Thanks....
That's gonna' be close -- it's about 3/4 of an inch larger in diameter than mine and they almost rub at lock -- if the suspension was compressed I think they would rub. When I was shopping for mine, the guys at discounttiredirect.com were really helpful in determining what would fit. Might try giving them a call -- they also beat the best price I could find delivered to my door, btw.
You know the width is too wide for your stock rims, right? particularly if you carry much weight...
Well thats what I was wondering. I wondered if the tires would be too wide for the stock rims. I don't do much heavy hauling so that wouldn't be much of a concern.
You can go out to the BFG web site and look at their spec's, I know for mine, the 305s are supposed to be on 8.5 inch minimum rims and mine are 8" wide. I thought folks said up to a 35" tire will fit the stock suspension, and your 315s would be right at 35" (a bit less, mathematically). See what the BFG site says your diameter would be...
I have an '05 250 crew and i had the same tires put on mine at 1500 miles (now have 28000). I have been on the beach in the Outer Banks and in/ out of snow and have yet to have the tires rub. they were mounted on stock rims with no adjustment to the suspension at all. also, no backspace issues either. I kept the stock tires, just in case I had an issue one day, but they are just collecting dust in the garage now. Hope this helps.
