Engine swapping help?

Looking to swap the engine in our 1996 explorer XLT 4.0 V6 to a 1996 V8 5.0. Its the same year, i dont know if that makes any difference. What all would need to be modified to accomodate the larger engine? Anything with pulleys, fuel system, headers. We have performance exhaust already on the vehicle with the v6. So what all would we need to change? anything with ecu like getting it flashed?

Thanks for your help!

You'll need the ecu for the 5.0 for sure. The Alternator, Power steering pump, and AC compressor from the 4.0 may work. You will need the transmission and transfer case for the 5.0 and possibly the drive shafts. The exhaust system has two catalytic converters on each side with o2 sensors on both the upstream and down stream side of the forward ones -so you'll need the 5.0 trans wiring harness which has connectors for them.

You will also need the 5.0 Engine wiring harness but I suspect that goes without saying.

You may also need to switch radiators. I'm not sure if the capacities and outlet locations are the same.
