Wash state bill - SB6900 - Engine displacement fee!

I think this would be career suicide for any senator trying to pass this bill with the way the economy is going. I heard tabs for license plates used to depend on how much the vehicle was worth. It costed hundreds of dollars a year for people.
The people got so fed up that they got rid of that. In turn a certain senator passed a higher gas tax. Now they want to find a way to add the old plate tax back as well as a higher gas tax. Don't bigger engines already use more fuel which generates more tax money?? Sounds like double dipping to me....

I'm not shocked, we have the biggest dip*****s here in the U.S. They are p*ssed off because they don't have many more money to throw away. We have a governor, what an idiot, that isn't worth a penny to throw. We have people in Olympia who DO NOT KNOW what money managment is, plus there's talk about another tax increase on the gas tax. For who? For King county and Seattle area, we really don't see much improvement here where I live. Chances of me riding the ferry? 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000, I have a better chance of winning the lottery. We already paid some of the highest taxes in the U.S. All they do in Olympia is .What a bunch of #%$&,*@#$ idiots!

Liberal WA state! Always trying to tax the residents to death to line thier own pockets and to pay for social benefits to keep you hooked on the WA state Govt teat thereby keeping the WA state employees paychecks fatter. If he were alive, Stalin would run for a senate seat in WA state and win hands down.

When you bias your intial assumptions you can make a case for pretty much whatever you want. Its unfortunate that the TV program that did the story on it did not do its homework.

I am about to retire from the navy and have been considering staying here on Whidbey Island or atleast in Washington if I can find post Navy work, but I think that displacement fee, especially coupled with the equally bad emissions fee would make me move to another state. I honestly cannot see that passing.

I live in the Clark Co area and am all for seeing Senator Craig Pridemore run out of office... It's obvious he's just getting his knees dirty for a move up in state politics, or just an idiot playing into King County's plan of using the "ecological responsibility game" to bring more state tax dollars to their region!
