Question Toyo Open Country M/T Tires

Hello and good day! Got a question for ya. I am thinking about putting the Toyo Open Country M/T Tires on a 2005 F-350 4x4 and I was wondering if any one else had these and how much road noise do you get out of them and do they wear decent?

Road noise is minimal....I was really inpressed with that. The wear still has me concered though...too early to tell but the fronts seem to be wearing on the insides for some reason???, Im going to rotate the hell out of em!

Thanks for your in-put. the truck has highway tread on it now and they suck in the snow. Need something with a little bit more traction and these caught my eye. The dealer said that the road noise was minimal but we all know dealers. With the aggressive tread pattern I needed someones opinion that has run them. Thanks!!

If you are looking for a good tire for snow that is still quiet and wears well, I can not say enough about the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour. I put a set on my 98 Expy and have 45000 miles on them and thay still have over half the tread left! They perform better in the snow than anything I have ever used, and are quieter than anything but highway tread. They may wear a little more on a heavier truck like yours, but I have nothing but praise for these tires.

How much off road use do yours see? Most of the driving I do is on the road but I like to hunt and fish so it will see some gravel. The last goodyears I had didn't like the gravel roads.

I also like to hunt and go camping alot, so I actually spend a good amount on gravel/logging roads. These tires actually perform better off-road than my old set of BFG Mud Terrains, and those were showing steel belts at under 30000 miles. The Silent Armours may have cost a little more, but they are the only tires I will ever buy!

I have the Toyo's on my truck. They do have very little road noise and I always have a window rolled down. The snow tires on my mustang howl ten times worse then the toyo's. I also haven't gotten stuck with them yet, they do really good in the snow which is nice because we have been getting a lot more than usual.

Im not completley impressed with the wear so far on the Toyo MT's...the fronts are worn pretty good in only 3months!

The more I read up on tires I think I am going to give the Wrangler Silent Armour a try. About half the price of the Toyo's anyways.

I bought an 05 350 crew cab and it had 35" Toyo M/T's on it. The truck was in great condition and was exactly what I was looking for...minus the big tires. I wanted to downsize but two of my friends said those were the best tires on the market now. I wanted to get the BFG all terrains but they both said the Toyo's are quiet and great in the snow and ice. After driving on them awhile I can say they are very quiet.

We have had more snow this year than we have had in a long time and these tires ROCK in the snow! I was able to go most places in 2wd. In 4wd the truck was unbelievable. I followed friends in the deep snow and they were having problems on some parts of roads and we would cruise right up hills without any slipping. I was told the tires large lugs don't load up with snow and man were they right. I think that really helps int he tires ability to get and keep traction.

Now when they wear out I'm not sure what I will replace them with. I have heard the Toyo's are very spendy and I might not be able to afford them. I can't belive how much more expensive tires are for 18 inch rims are. I haven't figured that out yet because to me, there's less rubber in the tire so you would think they would be cheaper? But i'm still trying to figure out why diesel is more expensive since it takes less to make it?

I can't answer the question on how they wear because I've only had the truck for about 4 months.

I would watch out on those goodyear silent armors. We put 4 on our F250 4x4, they were horrible. The truck is a 2002 model, single cab long bed. We use it on our ranch for towing our gooseneck trailers and such. About half off road and half on gravel roads and a little mud. These tires do not hold up well on gravel roads. They lasted about half the time as the bf goodrich at's did.
