Good rebuild manual?
Good 460 tricks and traps manual needed to get an engine ready for my F100; any recommendations? Attention all FORD EXPERTS ----- this engine will replace the 240 6 banger out of the truck next week; the 460 assembly came out of a 1986 Ford Econoline E300. Am getting the transmission too.....does anybody have anything I need to know about this swap? The transmission is a "non-computerized" tranny and the motor is not the fuel-injection type - it's carbureted. Looks like all I have to do is mount it in the truck and start it up, right? (after I install the L&L headers, mount kit, edelbrock with 750 CFM Holley, Crane cam kit, and chrome valve covers....).

Pick up the book by Tom Monroe, How To Rebuild Your Ford V-8. It covers the 335 and 385 series and has good info on pulling, rebuilding and installing your engine. You can find it at the FTE Online Store:
