Has anyone run one of these setups. How small would the 2 4 barrles have to be. All of the setups I have seen use 2 500cfm carbs. In theroy that is like putting a 1000cfm carb on...right? Why dose this setup work?
You may actually look to put a couple of 390cfm carbs up top. These set-ups look cool, but are tough to iron out the kinks in. Personally, one big carb is hard enough for me to keep right..

To answer your question about dual quads. The engines requiring that much air must be modified first to need them. As you modify an engine(basically an air pump) you need to remove the intake restriction(s). More air in and more power out. Get on a tread mill at full tilt with your hand over your mouth. Get the picture? I've seen so many theoretical mismatches on the dyno that worked very well. It's not just a cut and dried thing. You need to start on the smaller side and work your way up(I was in the dyno at holley carb so we had enuff carbs). When the power falls off you have over carbed the engine.
