The original owner of my 78 sc said it cost 10k w/ the camper shell. I might send him an email to verify this
tried emailing original owner and the mail came back.He was quite old when I bought the truck from him,he might not be around anymore

My 75 F150 2wd was sold on August 27, 1975 for $5800. The original owner had it since brand new and sold it to me on June 29, 2001 for 700 bucks. He said it was a good truck and he didn't use it that much anymore. It has the original 390 4V, C-6 auto, power disc brakes, power steering, sliding rear window, and the Explorer option. That's all the options it has. It only had 100K when I got it and now it has 108K. I didn't drive it that much in high school, because it only got 10 mpg.
The original owner said it was in stock when he bought it. He didn't order the truck. He drove it into the late 80's or early 90's then it sat for over 10 years before it was for sale. The 390 ran but didn't idle on its own. Turned out it was the coil that was bad at the time it ran. I've replaced the fuel pump, alternator, belts, voltage regulator, valve cover gaskets, rebuilt the carb, rebuilt the brakes, put on new tires and rims, and done maintenance on it. Right now it's sitting in the shed at the house, waiting for spring to come so I can drive it.
BTW, the truck was sold new in my hometown and the dealership that sold it, Frontier Ford, is no longer in business.
Hope you enjoyed this story!
