I want to get Hedmand headers real bad and need to know what problems I will run into with my 77 Ford F-150 2x4. I know I will need a heat sheild and stuff but I don't want to remove my motor.

I bought a 1968 F100 with a 429 in it. It is equiped with headers. It appears that no modification was needed on the drivers side. The passenger side, however, had to have the frame notched to work. It appers to have been a very hurried job with a cutting torch. I plan to do a little work with a grinder and clean it up a bit.

I would guess that a similar modification would be required with your application. Looking at how tight mine is, I just dont see how a clean cut would be possible with the engine in place.

 

Did not have to remove engine on my 78' 2wd.
Had to notch the Pass. side frame with grinder.
jacked motor up a tad.

Did you come in from the top or from the bottom when you put the headers on????
