Unhappy 1948 Shock question: what kind?

Ok, so I got this 1948 frame and am now trying to find front shocks for the beast. I have looked for some that will fit but, I really don't know what to buy.
The frame came with none on it and I really am having a problem trying to figure out the size to buy. I have measured between the mounts but am not sure really how I figure out the rest. It is a stock frame. Any ideas would be helpful.

Stock "shocks" were not like shocks today. They were a "adjustable spring" type shock. there is a pair on the bay now.
Chuck at Chuck's Trucks may have a pair, (203) 288 2769.

Reamer, are you talking about friction shocks? I don't believe any Bonus Builts ever came with those.

Thanks for the links bobby, one of these sites should have what I need.
Do you know what size I might need to fit the front mounts or do you
have the numbers of the ones you purchased?

Thanks in advance.

Dennis,

I don't have the numbers from the ones I purchased, I've slept a few times since then.
You should be able to get the number from one of those links. From what I remember i walked into the store and in a few minutes I walked out with all 4 shocks. there wasn't any kind of hassle looking them up.

I bought shocks for me '52 (same as '48) from NAPA. I just asked for front shocks for a '52 1/2 ton and they were able to look them up. They had them in stock.

I ended up ordering a pair from one of the catalogs last summer and they fit fine. I also had what appeared to be either stock or damn near stock shocks on the truck ('51 F3). They look just like shocks today. I kept the one that didn't fall apart when I removed it, kind of a cool wall ornament, has the Ford script and part number still legible. I'll have to track it down and see how the number comes out.
