460 timing chain recomednations

Have a 90 F350 SRW crew 4x4 with a 460 with 170K miles.
Want to do a little preventative matience.
It has had regular oil changes uses almost a quart every 3000 miles and runs fine.
I think a new timing chain would be a good idea.
It needs to continue passing emissions so how does that efect my choices wrt getting rid of retarded timing.

What timing set would you recomend for this engine.

Couple other questions.
Would a oil pump change be advisable after all these miles?
Does the 460 not have a knock sensor?

Would like this engine to outlast my father in laws 351 86 F150 which has 270K miles and still runs strong although it does use more oil then mine.

I figure my 5spd will outlast his C6 but we will see.

Jud, I would recommend the Cloyes true roller set. I have just what you need for your 460 - I've opened the package, but there is NO mileage on the set - engine has NEVER been started with it (wrong one for ~my~ application and the vendor refuses to take it back). I'll let you have it for only $50.00 - includes directions, if you'll pay for shipping. More info contact laptopgeek at earthlink.net

Once again, I support the Cloyes products.. I've never heard about a problem with them in anything.
The true roller should be smog legal.. I'd say take LapTopGeek up on his offer...

Thanks for the backup, Proud-owner. This chain / gear set is for the later model 460's that NEED to meet clean air standards and "pass the tests". As my truck is a historical vehicle (1974) I don't need to pass the standard tests, therefore I opted for the 1968 roller set....the truck runs like a scalded dawg!

So, if emissions are not a concern and horsepower is, the '68 set is the way to go? I assume this advances the cam timing compared to the factory setting on early '70's smog motors eh?

Rudifisk --- exactomundo, my dear man; sets it back to the "old" standards. My 460 with the "older" timing set runs like a scalded dawg....it won't get out of its' own way...it's downright scary...
