That would have been the way to go at the time but Brent at Fatman frabrications set
me up with a complete IFS kit in 2006 so many of the crown vic swaps weren't widely
publicized at that time as it was such a new thing.
The rear is an 8.8 out of a town car rebuilt with a limited slip and 373:1 gearing and
2008 Bullitt Mustang rims and tires and a parallel 4 link kit with bags.

To me it's a no-brainer: buy the CV and have at it.
