I pulled an tore down the 460 out of my 1989 f350 because of execessive oil consumption. I had posted earlier in the year about this and the fact that number 8 spark plug did not look the same as the others. Well when I removed the heads sure enough the number 8 clyinder was wet number 1 showed some wettness but not like number eight. the rest are dry but black. I pulled the pistons out and I cannot find a problem with the number 8 cylinder no broken or stuck rings no ring gaps lined up.
What really has me baffled is the intake is wet on the drivers side if you look down in where the plenum bolts on and I mean wet nasty black. What gives here any ideas. I would like to know what was broke so I can make sure and fix it.
Could be a couple of things: Cracked, broken or missing valve stem seal, worn valve guides, or a bad fuel injector.

I did the valve stem seals on that cylinder 90 days or so ago no help. I think I will replace the injectors. I there a good after market brand or do I need geniune FoMoCo. And I want to thank all of you for your input on this problem.
Well we are going to go completely through this motor. I would like to end up at about 8.5 compression ratio who's piston should I look at. I will be using the Crane h-260-2 cam Crane's tech dept say it is compatible with the computer. Iam not sure what the stock compression ration is. The cam is made for 8.0 - 9.5 compression.
