i just bought a 2002 f150 w/ a 4.6 im getting a shudder coming from the tranny when it shifts into overdrive. now the mechanic i call when i have a question told me to get a tranny flush and filter as the tranny fluid looks and smells burnt but only slightly so. he also told me to go to my local ford house and get a bottle of shudder stop to have the place where i get it flushed at put in when they go to fill the pan back up after the filter has been changed can someone explain why the newer ford trucks get a shudder in the tranny and if possible how well this shudder stop stuff works?

 

I would change the fluid and filter. I did on my 98. its fine now.
