Cool 93, Ford, F-250, 5.8, idle problem

Morris Formoko1-lead me here. Hope I can get some info.
Here's the problem....After thev engine iswarmed up--8-12 miles--It wants to floor. It starts with a very rough idle at stops and will stall. It does not back fire, it just chugs along til it stalls. You can restart right away and by feathering the pedal kkep it going til the light changes. Once runing it's ok. I've had the codes pulled-rec'd two-both from the past-nothing to do with this. cleared codes and reset. Threw some parts at it: new plugs, pcv, ger, iac valve, new inline filters, new air fliter, new coil, installed test pipe on converter. Hooked up fuel pressure guage--steady--non fluctuations. Engine runs smoothe for a truck with over 200k on her until you reach that mile-stone of 8-12 miles. Thought of the inigtion module--but they usually don't keep goibg. They normally just qiut. The smell of fuel and the way it acts is that it's flooding out??? where do I go from here. You can get me on my e-mail address also-seese68@hotmail.com. Thank you, Leon

the temp control sensor, not the one for the gauge but the one by the thermostat, is my guess.

Have you pulled the vac line off of the FPR while the engine is running? The FPR is just a diaphram regulator so if it has a small hole in it, it could be your source of extra fuel. the no fluxuation from FP made me think of that. Depending on how you checked it driving or idel the fuel pressure should range from ~30Psi at idel to around ~42 Psi at WOT.

Thumbs up I'll get ur done--THANKS YOU GUYS, I'll try these ideas.

THANKS AGAIN FOR THE IDEAS. We took the FP at idle and rev'd. I don't remember what the reading was--and we left on to see if it leaked down after shut-off. No difference -maintained pressure. I'll pull the FPR hose and check it out.

I would make sure that the recalls for the truck have been completed. Ford had many problems with their fuel regulation systems. Have you completed all the recalls?
