EGR Valve

Should I try to clean my EGR Valve or just buy a new one? How do I clean it?

you can clean the exhaust passages. What you should be concerned about as far as replacing or not would be if the vaccum valve will hold vaccum or not. Why do you feel you need to clean it?

That was the code it gave when i had it checked at Auto Zone.

That egr code may have to do with the electronic solenoid as well. Do you remember the specifics of what the code says

EGR valves very rarely fail, and when they do, they are practically rusting right off the engine. I agree with pp8 that the problem is more likely related to the DPFE sensor, or possibly some clogged passages or hoses.

I just replaced mine last week. had emmissions coming up. they run like $60. not hard to replace either. i would go for a new one just to eliminate it from the codes and re test the codes
