2008 Super Duty named Four Wheeler Pickup Truck of the Year

Not sure if you guys have gotten the new issue- but it won FW TOTY, and yes it beat out the Tundra.

The SD just BARELY squeaked out a win over the Hummer H2 SUT (I'm talking like .4 points margin)

I googled and googled but I could not find nothing about it. Somebody will probably come along and find it in 2 seconds though.

The Super Duty makes a very good candidate for off road upgrades. Gotta love solid axles all the way around. If I were in the market for a 3/4 ton it would more than likely be the new Super Duty with the Powerstroke and a 6 speed handshaker.

I may drive a Tundra, but I don't hate Ford Trucks. I just hate the 5.4L Triton V8, and the antique transmission hooked up to it.

Not yet. I am calling the atrocious 4 speed auto used in the F150 an antique. Not that more gears would help that anemic lump that is the 5.4L Triton V8.

I also wouldn't cry (and neither would Ford Superduty buyers) if the Torqueshift gained another gear, or maybe even two more gears. Think of how cool a heavy duty seven speed hooked up to a 6.4L diesel would be. It could have both a double overdrive and a really really low first gear. Now that would be some flexibility.

Torqshift is a great transmission...They have not had the issues with them like the older 4 speed auto's....By the way the 5.4 is a better motor after "03"

I like the one in my "04" hated the one in my old "99"

Considering I have a 1999 and been in worst vehicles like GM/DODGE i must say this antique 4 speed with spider webs all over the place is really a good tranny. It can sure use an extra gear but, I can live with that. I will consider this though:

Both of my 4 speeds have been rock solid also. Except for the converter "shudder". ( easily fixed by a fluid change )

I would be happier if the 4 speed in the Expy had 1 or 2 more gears.....

One thing. I like about the Torqshift is that when you shut off the tow mode on it. And then tap your foot on the brake it down shifts and saves your brakes
