Tranny Fluid in Diesel

Has anyone heard of putting a qt of tranny fluid in your tank to clean out the deposits and improve your fuel economy? If yes, is this doable in our new 08 trucks or will this mess with the fuel system and or the dpf?

Sincerest Regards,

I would have to say NO. No room for any additives like that with all the emission equpiment.

One question I had was would the red hydraulic fluid (if used in the older motors) make it look like you were using off road diesel?

No the tranny fluid won't stain filters. The two dyes are different. I would not use it in a 6.4 it produces a ton of ash when burned. That will clog the DPF, besides these engines were made for ULSD.
