My friends truck through a code P0713, his transmission on/off light was blinking on his way home. So I told him to check it with a code reader and that was what came up. I looked up in my book and found it is the Transmission Fluid temperature sensor circuit high input. Does anyone know what that means, and is it serious. He is taking it to the Ford Dealership later this week. Is it bad enough that its going to damage it. He does have a warrantee.
Tell us more about the truck. Have him look at the fluid to see if it is a nice red, and smell to see if it smells burnt. What was he doing when this happened?
his truck is 01 Crew cab 4x4, he was driving home from a friends house that was about 50 miles. He does drive fast sometimes and does launch pretty hard sometimes also. I was not with him when he was having the problems so I don't know for sure what he did. And he says he drive nice all the time. When he gets off work I will tell him to check the fluids and see if its burnt or not.
If his trans is working fine, he might take the SSV sensor on top of the rear end and clean it. How is his speedometer working? Does he have a chip or programer, gauges, intake, exhaust?
