Rear End

Guys,

Thanks for the great response. I have located a 3.73 Explorer 8.8 to go with my 302 and T5. The best news is that it is a low mileage disk brake unt that was only 150.00 and it comes form a yard in my town in Massachusetts.

Man!! That's a great deal!! I'm running a 1966 F100 9" under my '56 F100 with 3:25's for now? I'm thinking about changing them to 2:75's for this next year's drive to Pigeon Forge? Right now I get 10 mpg's and I think I might be able to get up to 17 or so with higher gears? Not sure yet.

God bless!

I hope to have it ready for the Western Nationals...but that's what I said last year! After I started this project I knew that the truck would no longer be a work truck so I started pulling together some ot the odds and ends of other projects. I am building a 54 slant cab that will get the bed, fenders, grille, seat, wheels, etc from the 56. I built a 302 and a C4 that will go in it. The chassis is a 56 with a Volare IFS and a 9 inch rear end. The 54 will be on the road before the 56.

I am running a 351 C, C4 stage two kit, and 9" inch from a ZH (aussie Fairlane) and 3;25 gears. this will give me a bit of both worlds for highway and local driving.
