SCT working on DPF delete

Just got word yesterday that SCT is back to working on the DPF delete tune for the 6.4. They stoped with it for awhile to work with something else. Now they got an in house 6.4 with the DPF removed and are full throttle on R&D. They said expect to hear something sometime next month, yea I know we've heard that before but I got my fingers crossed. That's pretty much all I know so far, I'll give yall a heads up when I hear something new.

Can't wait to get the Smoke back into the Stroke.

Basically it depends on where you live. If you get it inspected by someone who knows what they are doing, it is not legal. But if you're lucky enough to live in an area like mine, where people don't know what a DPF is, it's all good. Half of them don't even speak english, and if there is something on their little check list I'll just say it's means Diesel Powered Ford, they'd buy it.

But rumor is to get this tune and the DPF delete pipe you will need to sign a paper that says you will be using this vehicle for off-road use only.

Well, sadly the are a few days too late and a few dollars to short for us here.

I have officially quit stocking all SCT products for the 6.4 due to their obnoxious lack of customer service on the issue and inability to provide customer service for 6.4 customers and custom tuning dealers.

Since going through another company and getting software and the hardware to deliver custom tuning with the FlashPaq, I haven't looked back and surely don't miss the lack of Livewire's and associated problems that we have had with them and their support team.

SCT has been spouting about this since August, and the infamous "Oh, we will have it ready in 2 weeks" BS since. An awfully long two weeks here for us- from August until now approaching the end of January.

All of our custom tuning (custom tuning that we have now had out for over a month for the DPF deletes) will be delivered with the FlashPaq.

I live in southern VA. Do mechanics inspect for a DPF during the yearly inspection? For what it's worth, we do not have smog inspections.

I don't know if they inspect in VA yet or not. I believe they will check everywhere sooner or later. Also it will be hard to fool people. A truck with a DPF will not make any smoke and a truck without one will make smoke. Seems like even a semi intelligent police officer could see this from the road and pull you over.

DPF delete and our 150RWHP performance flash put mine up to around 18.5 from 13 stock. Mixed city/highway and everyday use averages out right at 15mpg on my F350 SRW CC SB w/3.73's. It likewise dynoed 434RWHP and 761RWTQ

It might attain 20 if you drive conservatively at around 60 or 65mph; I probably just drive too fast to see it

Wow thats a big gain. So do you usualy drive it pretty hard? Do you feel confident that the motor can still be reliable with that much hp and torque gain? What are you doing to get that much gain, more boost or somthing?

Lol sory for all the questions I am tryng to do as much reaserch on this as possible before he takes the plunge.

Matt and I have talked at length about this. He believes that the 6.4 is a much sturdier platform to work with than the 6.0 and I was fed up with SCT a long time ago on this issue as well. Matt was not the only person getting told 2 weeks. I spoke with SCT in person at the PRI show in Orlando, FL first week in December and they said that it would be out the next week, did it happen? NOPE! SCT dropped the ball on the 6.4! Yea, they're the best thing since sliced bread for the 6.0's but I think they got theyre britches a bit big by expanding to the other manufacturers. I once thought that Superchips was a thing of the past but Spartan has put new life into the FlashPAQ! With end-user software coming soon to allow custom files to be emailed and loaded into the tuner, things can only get better with time!
