Deer, especially eastern whitetail, closely followed by Elk.

Buffalo and deer. Deer makes the absolute best jerky, and buffalo is great no matter what you eat it as (burgers, steaks, etc.)

I just looked at the poll results thus far, and have to comment!

- Pig and bear are both greasy...Bear is just harder to get.

- Deer is good, but they do not have white tails in the west...These black tails and mulies aren't even worth the time.

- Elk is by far a better than the deer out here.

- Why no snakes?...Rattlesnake is awesome!

I could go on, but it is obvious that you boys and girls shop at Safeway!

Aligator makes a great stake and burger...

My Great Grampa Scruggs liked road kill...literary
He was an engineer for Southern Pacific RR on the Portland to Roseburg, OR back in the 40's and 50's. After work he drive like a maniac swerving all over the road going after people's loose chickens and any thing else that dared to cross his path. Whatever went under his wheels ended up on the dinner table.

Glad to see that someone appreciates the finer things in life...There is not a better way of tenderizing meat, than ....Road kill!...18 wheelers are the best.

It may sound like I am joking, but had people call me up to clean and dress...I guess I was the only old school country boy.

BTW...Scruggs is a great last name..I play a five string!...Is your Papa any relation to the great Earl?

I second that. I used to live in alaska for many years, and I couldn't agree with you more. I like moose alot more than bison, caribou tastes similar to deer, and I never got to try muskox. My fave of the list above is waterfowl though.

Cheers!!

Well Jared, you are a little early. Tastes like chicken. I haven't ever tried porcelain, but a bunny tastes like chicken. You wouldn't even know the difference.

The other is the fact that this is a family website.

I'm not sure about any relations to Earl Scruggs...my branch came out of Tennessee and moved to Oregon and if I remerber right Earl Scruggs came out of North Caarolina.
Grandpa Scruggs died long before I was born, but his drivng for road kill is still remembered by some of the family today...he scared them swierving down the road in his old Model T.

Honey, you don't eat bunnys...you eat wabbits. And here are then instructions for getting those darn wabbits...

Elmer Fudd: [sticking his spear in a rabbit hole]
[singing]
Elmer Fudd: Kill the Wabbit! Kill the Wabbit! Kill the Wabbit!
Bugs Bunny: [peeps out from another hole] Kill the Wabbit?
Elmer Fudd: Yo-ho-to-ho!Yo-ho-to-ho!Yo-ho...
[Bugs steps in]
Bugs Bunny: Oh, mighty warrior of great fighting stock! Might I inquire to ask-Eh,
[eats a carrot]
Bugs Bunny: what's up, Doc?
Elmer Fudd: I am going to kill the Wabbit!
Bugs Bunny: Oh, mighty hunter, twil be quite a task. How will you do it? Might I inquire to ask?
Elmer Fudd: I will do it with my spear and magic helmet!
Bugs Bunny: Your spear and magic helmet?
Elmer Fudd: Spear and magic helmet!
Bugs Bunny: Magic helmet?
Elmer Fudd: Magic helmet!
Bugs Bunny: Magic helmet.

Seriously though, rabbit is really good and easy to raise.
