I would put in a 100 gal aux fuel tank and fill up before crossing the border. $800-$1000 dollars for the fuel tank (that I want to buy anyway) would be much cheaper than voiding your warranty for future claims.

6.4 EGR valve and particulate filter (DPF) failures due to high sulfur fuel:
The 6.4 PowerStroke is designed to run on ultral low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuel, which has no more than 15 PPM sulfur content. Using high sulfur fuel (greater than 500 PPM sulfur) can cause corrosive damage to the EGR valve and DPF. Use of high sulfur diesel can cause emission system component malfunction and cause the check engine light to come on. Broadcast Message 0346.

Running LSD or ULSD would have no impact on a blown engine. Obviously the tech is so overwhelmed by the new technologies that he has forgotten about the basic engine.

Since the sulfur is the lube for a diesel I would think the higher content would be better on the motor, excluding all the peripherals of course.

Page 31 Powerstroke diesel owners manual..."Using low sulpher diesel fuel(16-500ppm) or high sulpher diesel fuel (greater than 500ppm) in a 6.4L diesel engine designed to use only Ultra Low Sulpher Diesel fuel increases the likelihood of engine oil dilution with fuel which may lead to major engine damage. Engine damage from using the improper type of fuel is not covered under your warranty"..So it is written..Am I to understand that folks on this forum are telling me to disregard that statement by Ford.

Broadcast msg 0346 is titled 6.4 EGR valve and particulate filter failures due to high sulpher fuel.

Well I just don't no how I blew the engine.I just believe it was a bad engine from the start.I baby my vehicles.I really dont think that the fuel was the problem although it did run like crap when I had to fill up with lsd one time.

Your feelings are not supported in my case! I religiously use ULSD fuel and CJ-4/SM oil. I have regen issues. As far as stations, their pumps/tanks are tested before the ULSD label is placed on the pump. They are subject to inspection. I don't believe many, if any will risk the consequences of being sloppy with what fuel is in ULSD labeled pumps.

Sulfer is not the lube for a diesel, it isn't even a desired component of diesel fuel.
Its the process used to remove the sulfer that alledgedly reduces fuel lubricity, but ULSD fuel is required to meet standards for lubricity and the engines are designed to run on it.

Damage to the engine or the emision equipment is the same ^&*^^$%$&%. It will void the warranty. There is a little manual when you buy a new truck. The manual states ONLY ULSD period.

The corrosive qualities of LSD are not new. In fact, the intake manifolds used to be coated internally to prevent corrosion from EGR gasses. It's called sulfuric acid when mixed with water.
