429 out of a '69 tbird

Ive got this 429 thunderjet sitting in pieces in my garage, and Im still deciding on redoing the 400 in my truck or shelling out the change to make this bigblock scream. Its got the big heads on it, and I read in a vintage chilton manual it pushed over 11:1 comp. I obviously need to drop the compression. I want to keep it at 429, and there isnt much needed to help the heads as far as flow goes, but anyone have cam recommendations? Its going in a 76 ford f250 4x4, auto(thats the plan today at least), 35" tires, probably 4.10 gears. I figured putting an edel performer RPM intake on it, and headers of some size, if all else Ill build them. How about Comp. Cams Extreme energy 4x4 cams? Particular grinds? Source for pistons to drop the compression?

I have the the same motor in my 77 highboy.I put a set of D3ve 92cc heads on it to lower the compression ratio and used the Comp Cams Extreme 34-235-4.It makes great power from idle to about 5500.I am running a stock intake and Edelbrock 750.My truck has 4.10 gears and 35" tires with a Trac-loc and has NO problem spinning the tires in 2nd gear.

The heads are what was used on 73-79 460's.These heads are pretty cheap to buy.It gets around 10 mpg.
