Fast Idle Adjustment On Edelbrock

Team;

I recently installed an Edelbrock carb on my '87 f-250 4x4 (460) and am experiencing an excessively high idle when cold. The idle goes down into a normal range after warm up. In fact, it runs very well after warm up!

I was not being especially attentive to vacuum hose replacement during the install. Unused hoses were capped. The Edelbrock carb did not have the same vacuum ports as the stock unit. I did change the vacuum advance to be taken directly off the timed vacuum port of the carb however.

How does one go about adjusting the fast idle speed on the carb directly? Is there an adjustment that can be made on the carb itself? Is there anything I should pay attention to on the vacuum lines that I capped?

Sorry about the simplistic nature of this question. The instruction manual is not very clear about it and this is the first time I've had to deal with carb tuning.

Thank You,

Alex Johnstone
