There was a conversation going on about those injectors a week or two ago and from what I have heard there are mixed reviews of them. What size are the nozzles? Just the fact that they're 170 cc doesn't mean much. If they have stock size nozzles on them you have more or less a Stage 1 injector (160cc). If they're bigger nozzles, keep in mind that you're likely going to need a bigger HPOP as well to fully utilize the injectors.

They have a checkered reputation it seems. Some people are pleased, some say they had problems or customer service was less than ideal. No one here I know of runs them, but i know that I've seen talk of them on Powerstroke.org and oil burners before.

And just for the record, if you just want some cheap injectors, Jim (Rosewood) will build you a set of "budget builds" for less than that so long as your old ones aren't completely bombed.

There's not a budget build for 2.5's because they include all new parts. The fact that Sniper rates their injectors by HP and not the cc rating tells me all I need to know about that builder. Let me guess...he sells injectors for Cummins engines as well? With the right tunes and supporting mods you can get close to that out of a set of Rosewood stage 1's pretty easily. If you're looking at 2.5, remember that you're going to need to spend some serious coin on supporting mods as well (e-fuel, gauges, custom tunes, HPOP, Turbo, Exhaust, Intake, and a built transmission if you have an auto, etc.). My .02 if you're going to spend that much on a mod, spend the extra $$ and do it right the first time. Cutting corners on modding a PSD is going to leave you disappointing with a busted truck.

ok that helps a lot. i already have a ts 6 pos/chip, 3"dp/4"exhaust, and afe intake. what do you recommend for the turbo upgrade? and what about the intercooler?i see a lot for upwards of $1000 is that the standard or is there a more cost effective way?

Yeah I forgot to put an IC on that list too. What are you seeing for upwards of $1000? An IC kit? You can put your own IC kit together for about half that. Use an IC out of a 99+ 7.3 or get one from a 6.0 then buy or make the pipes and buy the boots. For the turbo upgrade it just depends on how big a set of injectors you're going and what you want to use the truck for. For stage 1's the stock turbo is sufficient but an S366 turbo kit is an upgrade and will work nicely with a set of 2's. Bigger than that and you really should look at a T4 frame turbo and there are quite a few to choose from for that.

How much you spend on this stuff is largely determined by how much you want to source, build or piece together yourself. If you want to just buy everything in a "kit" you can do that too, but you pay a little more.

With 2.5's your stock turbo will hate its life.

What's your power goal and what do you want to do with the truck?

With stageII or bigger you really need to do head studs, valve springs, pushrods, hpop, turbo, clutch(if 5speed) built trans (if auto)

All it is is a stock turbo with a ungraded compressor wheel just like the D66
To get that power level you'll need to go to a T4 setup with a S300 or S400 series turbo
