Thing about that is, you have to have it on insurace to start with, take a picture, fill out some forms, send it all off to(don't remember the state, but it's far from La.), and they dicide if it passes as antique or not. So, basically they want something close to stock, and I didn't even try to do this for my Bronco.
The Bronco...... well, it doesn't have any insurance.
If I only go done the back roads, I just drive it and take as many gravel roads as possible.
If I have to go down the hwy, I either pull it on a trailer or with a strap(short distance).
I bought a tow bar, and want to rig something up so I could pull it like that, or go talk to my insurace company, and see what's the cheapest thing they could do.

If you wanna insure it, look into the classic auto insurance, here in washington my insurance company will allow 3000 miles a year and they have let me slide when ive had a touch over 7000 on it one time.... It was less than half the price of liability and had more protection than liability. Also, mine didnt have to be appraised or looked at at all, i just had to tell them that it was a vehicle 20 years old or older...
Just so you know, i didnt read all of the posts, this quoted one got my attention...LOL

> How are some ways yall keep the cost down on the insurance for your?
Make it my 2nd or 3rd on my policy, say under 5k a year, not used for school or work commuting. I say I keep it for home depot, trailers, and firewood.
When I bring it for inspection I throw plain black rims with P235 tires on it.
