I can go measure mine, but i didn't install it so it's not where i like them. I prefer to have my gooseneck ball approx 3-4" in front of the rear axle centerline.

Mine is 46". Open the tailgate and measure from the ball to end of bed.

EDIT: What is yours?

I measured to the ball. Not center. So me and Ron is about the same.

What kind of hitch are you putting in? Do you have a sway bar? I've got a sway bar with a B&W turnover ball. If you don't put the ball in the alternate location on a sway bar equipped truck the ball hits the bar when it's turned over when it bounces just right.

If you have the sway bar I can measure and tell you where not to mount the B&W.

My B&W hitch on an '03 super cab long box was installed according to directions and is about 46.5" from the rear. It wasn't as far ahead of center as I wanted but that was where it had to be because of the mounting hardware. I have the rear sway bar and haven't had a problem with the ball hitting the bar but I haven't left the ball in the hitch very much. On my '87 F250, the ball is approx. 50" from the rear of the box. That is what I wanted with the B&W but the mounting wouldn't let me.
