Trying to decide

Hello all,
I currently drive a 2000 F250 XL 5.4L Superduty 2WD , which has had the motor replaced two years ago. The motor has about 110k miles.
My job required me to drive alot, estimate 1000+ or - miles a week. And sometimes carry loads between 750 lbs - 1500 lbs over long distances.
I am ready to get rid of the F250 and buy an F150 2WD due to fuel and comfort. I have test driven the 5.0L and the 3.5L EcoBoost. Both feel and drive great. But having a hard time deciding on the two.
My question(s), does anyone else own an EcoBoost or 5.0L and put alot of miles and weight on it ? If so how many miles have you accumulated, change in GPM, any mechanical problems, or other issues ?
This would greatly help me make my decision ! Consumer feedback is always the best.

Thanks,
mjperry

Welcome to the indecisive club.....it's the unofficial club for those of us waffling between the 5.0 & EB. I would also check out the 5.0 (Coyote) link on this forum as there are some good threads there on fuel economy, etc. Both engines are VERY capable. My own experience from test drives says the EB will squeak out a few more MPGs if you do predominantly highway driving, but I'd rather you base your decision from current owners of both engines who are using them on a more frequent basis. Good luck on your search for info and decision, I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I doubt anyone has accumulated any significant miles yet, certainly not over a few thousand if that. I think either engine properly maintained will live a long and reliable life.

Considering that kind of mileage, I'm surprised that your not looking a diesel truck.

I definitely have considered a diesel but, the fuel prices are too high.

Then I would likely go for an ecoboost truck with the 3.31 rear axle. Even carrying a load of 750 lbs or so, you should be able to attain good mileage.

The Ecoboost really acts like a diesel. Seems like a perfect fit for you.

The 5.0 has no advantages over the EB engine. The EB owns it in every way.
