Welcome BIG JON--that's a good looking truck. I have been slack on my '59 Ford but I am shade treeing it for now. What sort of primer/paint is on the frame it looks great. I like those welds right handed my go the other direction-southpaw-if I still remember how to weld-it's been a while. Good luck on the build-looks great so far.

Howdy Birdman-
I used Hammerite on the frame. It's a bear to spray, as it is thick as heck, but they make a thinner for it and I thinned it out quite a bit. Just takes a while to dry then, and it still clogged the gun once in a while until I got done being afraid of adding too much thinner and got the mix right... about 25% thinner... give or take.
I used it for two reasons -
1 - I like the way it looks
2 - I have friends who like to go off-road their Toyotas and that's what many of them use on their rock guards and bumpers because it is so tough.
One thing I found out really early that's cool about it is that after you spray it, some of the clear component in it rises to the top and then acts like a clear coat without having to actually spray a clear coat. I also found that the thicker you spray it on (being careful for runs) the more extreme the hammered effect. I went with a tack coat, about 15 minutes later a color coat, let it sit for about half an hour to 45 minutes, then a really thick last coat. Took a little practicing on extra sheetmetal to keep it that thick without the finish running. I think I used a 1.8 primer tip on my HVLP.
