Post 5.0 to 7.5 Swap

I need help. I want to put a big block in my 1994 Flareside F-150, but I don't know what I'll need to do it. I want to use the motor and automatic over drive transmission from a 1991 F-250. I want to continue to use EFI. Will my 5.0 computer work or will I need the one from the big block truck? Will I need the crossmember out of the big block truck? Will my front springs support the added weight? Will I need a differnt drive shaft and if so can I get one out of a different vehicle? Thanks for your help.

5.0 to 7.5 Swap

I'm having the EFI7.5L&E4OD taken out of my '94 F-250,and swapped into my '90 Bronco soon,so I'll let you know more info. as I get it.From what I understand, this swap will require my pickup's computer, too. You'll need engine mounts for a 460-equipped pickup. You can buy these new through a Ford dealership's parts department,or you can find a used set, from a donor truck,in a junkyard.A company called L&L products also offers new mounts to put 429/460 big-blocks into F-150s&Broncos.The driveshaft question is a grey area. Some people tell me my stock one will work, while others say I'll have to get one made up.Currently,my Bronco has a EFI5.0L&AOD in it.I'm also considering taking the 13-56 T-case out of the F-250,and putting it into the Bronco, even though the Bronco also has a 13-56 in it.I figure the 94's only has 55,000 miles on it,instead of the almost 118,000 the '90 Bronco's has.Plus,I didn't use 4wd in the pickup that much,so it's T-case is like new.I'm thinking I'll need a custom driveshaft. As for upgrading the front suspension,I'm told the stock set-up will be okay, but with the added weight of the 460 up front, braking distances will increase, and the front might sag a bit.You could always go with aftermarket pieces up front,to correct this.My Dad has a 1993 Flareside 4x4,with the 302.Nice truck! We had thought about a 460 swap for it,but that is after the Bronco gets done, and we see all of what is involved.Good luck with your project.
