Sorry 7283-F250,
I snipped that "sept 04" and wasn't looking @ your whole post when I replied.
Yes that is a big hit, but you showed it some love and I trust it's going to come back to you. At least the Toyota's been reliable and gets better mileage.
I've always viewed hours under my truck as therapy, escapism, or a lesson in anger managment. But not in the winter. Fortunate to have access to a lift right across the street.
If I had bought stock in Exxon rather than a truck back in '87 I'd probably be driving a new PS today. For the time being I'm getting nickle and dimed to death by my work truck and trying to figure out how to get all my tools AND material to the job without being married to the bank. Don't get me wrong, I love my Ford, but $125 fillups 3 times a week are just out of hand.
"Damn that is a lot of money"

Danm that is a lot of money. and i thought $30 a day 3-4 days in a row was bad. The other days I'm able to do $30 every other day, maybe.

As for the toyota.... Don't get me started.

Bought May '05 $610 with tow home
New Radiator $100
New Head gasket, head bolts, timing set, ect about $200
Looking for a new Head found plow truck and assorted parts as well as good head $700
tow it all home with uhaul $300 (can you say rape)
After hours of work find out toyota changed motor deck heights and my new head dosen't fit (priceless)
New junk yard head $75
Head machine work $250 (addin in machine work for original good head)
Fix frame $425
Finaly get on road Jan 06
misc stuff fixed $200
another head gasket (kinda my falt) $40
and ther eis more but it gets cheaper kinda. Maybe another $200
Its running good now though

$3100 but I think it actually closer to $4000
There is a $3 altinator in there. I am proud of that and tell enyone when I get the chance.

Oh ya. Brakes $200, Tires $400, cluth $600.

And that is why $1000 to $1500 is not worth selling it. And it gets better gas mileage than the new Ranger.
I also get the "good for you" thumbs up look when I drive it. There aint many of these old rust prone toyota's out there any more.

Yep,
Sean saw my 2nd frame fix. First fix I had a shop do. Picked up a welder along the way and I did the second frame fix for like $70($40 in metal. rest in suplies). Took 3 weeks (nights and weekends) but I did it cheap. Dropping the gas talk was a HUGE PITA.
