351C Intake on a 400? Couple of questions..

I like the looks of some of the high-rise intakes you see for the 351c and wouldn't mind having one on my 400. More for aesthetics than performance..

Is there any real issue with going to a 351C intake? or any reason to not use one?

and can anyone point me to where I can find the needed spacers for a decent price?

thanks

Aesthetics is the last reason to pick an intake. But, if you just gotta have one, contact Price Motorsport OR TMI as both have intake spacers. However, the spacers are going to cost as much as the intake.....you can't get around that, spacers aren't cheap to make.

Tim Meyer sells the Price Motor Sport spacers. They are not cheap.

Most are for using a 351C-4V head on a 400, and then using a 4V manifold.
Those 351C High Rise Intakes are probably for a 4V head, and will not readily mate to a 2V head.

I don't see an adapter for a 4V intake on a 2V head.

I assumed it was cheaper than that, guess it really isn't worth it just for aesthetics.

Thanks for the help though

One other thing worth mentioning is that you need a different distributor or a dist. extension when you use adapter plates, because they raise the intake manifold and it interferes with the dist.

I have an HEI in there now, but I'm not sure if it would clear it..

still, $250 for spacers and $200 for an intake is a bit much for aesthetics when the edebrock performers are going for $100 on eBay, there's no way I can justify it.
