Question couple things

I am in need of a source for headlight adjusting / mounting hardware for a 2004 Ranger. I just bought it and it needs these replaced on the passenger side. Also, I have a couple issues with lighting inside, should there be an indicator light on the dash somewhere to indicate when the cruise control is switched on? And lastly, I believe I know but is there a light for illuminating the headlight switch position once the lights have been turned on? Also the power window door controls are not visible at night, should these also be lit? Thanks.

The headlight adjusters should be avail at the dealer, a salvage yard, or in the "Help" section of your area auto store.

For the light switch and the cruise indicator, you need to pull the main bezel off that surrounds the cluster. Not hard...
The cruise control should have a green light in the central warning indicator area that looks like a semicircle and a pointer. It is next to the battery light and the ck fuel cap indicators. Unfortunately, it is one of the few incandescent bulbs which fail over time. The dealer should be able to furnish such bulbs. (NOTE: while having the instrument cluster removed, you might as well change all the incandescent bulbs...there are 11. If one has failed, the others might be about to go as well... :They are: Left turn, Right turn, high beams, airbag, battery, cruise, and 5 for illumination.)

Yes, there should be a bulb behind the light control ****, it is the same as the dash bulbs. Unfortunately it is run all the time at full brightness, so it is failure prone. That one can be replaced with an LED if you would like, however, remember a resistor should be used in series.

Thanks Powerstroke6ltr. I'll look into these as soon as I get a chance. I found out something else last night, I need a chipped key to start it, but they (dealership) also gave me keys w/o chips. What are they good for? I know I can't start it with these keys, or is there some special procedure to follow to make them work? Thanks again.

The non chipped keys are only good for unlocking/locking doors. If they look like a small plastic square on top, they are non chipped, if they say PATS or are a larger sized key, and you have 2 functioning keys, you can program up to 8 keys. If you only have one fcting key, the dealer will need to program extra keys. Your PATS system should be capable of being bypassed either by the dealer or by an aftermarket alarm if you so desire. You can also take the PATS key and place it somewhere close to the ignition tumbler hidden and it should allow you to start the truck with any key, since the system looks for the right RF signature....
