Define: "HOOPDY" or also "HOOPDEE" or "HOOPTEE"

I'm not real sure what this word means - it popped up in country slang, and can be a lot of things, as in: "Hooptee Do!" Or more like: All the "HOOPTY" that surrounded it... (A thing or event)

Is "HOOPTEE" even a real word?

I just dunno.....

HOOPTEE UP, and let me know. I'm dang curious

What the hoopty anyways

I have always heard it in reference to a pos work or school vehicle that you really don't like or take care of.

I thought it was Whooptydo.

It was a favorite rejoinder of a now dead comedian Chris Farley (drug overdose) from Saturday Night Live TV show to express disdain for something someone said to him in one of his comedy skits, as in "Well whooptydo!"

I don't think it really has a meaning, it's just an expression, like Cowabunga by Clarabel the clown (Howdy Doody).

Unfortunate that he was addicted and ODed. He was funny in his own way and would have had a career if he hadn't taken drugs. He apparently was self concious about his weight (about 300 lbs) and must have had an inferiority complex as a result.

As I remember, he was discovered dead in his apartment by a prostitute he had summonsed for her services.

Like you say, it may have many meanings; can you put it in context?

i do know that hoopty is an ethnic term, usually heard spoken by members of the african descendant's, or their white wannabes

As a kid growing up in East Tennessee, the term 'Hoopty-Do' was also used instead of the Gomer Pyle expression, "Gahhhh-ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-Lee".

I always thought it was more like 'big ol', as in 'he's got some hoopty tires on that truck'. Maybe the definition is regional?
