My buddies 97 F250 PSD started acting up recently. It was losing power and not responding to the throttle. I told him it sounded like it was the cps. He took it to a shop and they replaced the accelerator pedal. It was fine for about 2 weeks then we where together and it started again. Again I said cps, he took it back to the shop. This time they replaced the cps. It ran fine for 2 days and started acting up again. He took it back, and they told him that his superchips programmer was the problem. They said the the computer was trying to run on the stock program and the superchips program at the same time. Is this possible? He has had the superchps program in his truck for over 2 years, without changing it. It all sounds a little fishy to me. Any ideas?
No doubt, that one of Jody's tunes would be better. But my friend is tighter than a banjo string. That programmer came with the truck, and he won't pay for anything else. I still think that the cam position sensor is the problem. They only charged him $29.99 for the sensor! The last one I bought at wholesale was $119.99. I think they are using junk yard parts. By the way, I live in the tri-cities, real close to Erwin and Jonesborough.
Thanks
Nope the Cam sensors have been redesigned and are now cheap!! But i call bull on the shop!! Never heard of such a thing! Tell your buddy to put the stock program back in and when its acting up you'll know thats not the issue.
